Kenneth grew up in poverty, was kicked out of high school, subsequently graduated, and went on to become a high school teacher, Defense Attorney, Chief of Public Defenders, boxer inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame, and became a police sergeant at the age of 68. He also raised a son as a single parent.
