When someone has spent a majority of their adult years working in the same position in the workplace, they tend to get pigeonholed into defining ourselves on what they do and not by who they are. This type of self definition possibly holds us back from advancements in both work-related areas and in life advancements as well. In Learning to Reinvent Yourself, Brian Patafie explains how, in 2015, he had to walk away from the career he loved, which provided for him and his family. He was away for a year and sought the help from both healthcare professionals and successful business people from a Fortune 500 company. His reinvention started the following year, in 2016, when he entered into the same position in Frankfurt, Germany in Germany's professional hockey league. Both feet first at 61 years old, he moved to the EU with absolutely no grasp on the German language. The rest of the story is not only inspiring but it's extremely humorous as well...
