“It would've saved a lot of time/trouble if there were high resolution photos available of Candy so we could incorporate that into the event marketing. After many emails requesting such photos, none were procured and no help was given other than to say look through Getty Photos. I ended up tracking down the photographer of the low resolution photo provided and requesting a high resolution version. If you would like, I would be happy to share that with you so that future clients would have that available for their event. I find it hard to believe that is something your agency doesn't provide as the other speaker agencies that I worked with provided high resolution photos as soon as the contract was signed. I don't really fault Debbie as this seems like an oversight at a higher level, but I do wish she had been more proactive in tracking down a high resolution photo. It may seem like a small detail, but it held up our event promotions as our website requires a high resolution photo as well as our printed material.”

When Candy Chang stencilled the phrase “Before I die I want to_____” onto a derelict house in New Orleans after she lost someone she loved, she invited anyone and everyone to participate. It was a simple act. And with it, she unleashed the latent creativity amongst the thousands of people who have taken part around the world. Her project not only encourages people to contemplate their greatest hopes and aspirations, but it offers a space to develop our own comfort talking about grief and death. In this talk, Chang shares the project in-depth, including the process, responses, global themes, and remixes, as well as cultural histories around death and grief that can help inform a more compassionate society. Often paired with a real Before I Die wall for attendees to share, Chang’s talks provide a poignant and profound experience for people to restore perspective and reflect on their lives together.
