Claire is vintage millennial. She lives by the mantra do good and do well. In addition to her commitment at Twitter, Claire co-founded a non-for-profit, has a collection of niche media businesses and authors books. She was an early adopter of social media and one of the first pioneers to leverage Twitter as a means to build awareness around a cause that ultimately inspired her to found a charity to help the 53 million orphaned children in sub-Saharan Africa.
At 30, Claire Diaz-Ortiz already has a pretty impressive resume. She works as the Manager of Social Innovation at Twitter, founded a charity to help orphaned children in sub-Saharan Africa and literally wrote the book on how to use social networking for philanthropy. But last week she added something rather special to her curriculum vitae: She got the Pope on Twitter.
Claire Diaz-Ortiz didn't need to make 'the call' that she had gone into labor. Friends, family and the 332,000 other people that follow the long-time Twitter employee on the social media site were all-to-aware of each step of her dramatic delivery this weekend, because she posted about the process live for the world to see.
