“Daniel's reading/talk was one of our most successful events to date. In addition to graduate and undergraduate students, colleagues from a variety of programs and disciplines attended, people we have never before seen at our programs. We even drew faculty from other institutions and people from the Nashville community, unaffiliated with teaching institutions. Daniel gave a rich and riveting presentation; it was relevant, even exigent, and completely engrossing. He connected journalism effectively to his fictional narratives, showing how one form enriches the other. In short, he was magnificent. He provided a tremendous experience for all present, and we are deeply glad to have hosted his visit to Vanderbilt.”
