At whatever age you happen to be – you have the opportunity to adjust and improve your own future. As long as we still can think and breathe, we can each make decisions that improve our lives. It is never too late to focus more wisely on the truth of who you are.
David Rabadi changed his future and greatly increased his success as well as his happiness when he looked honestly into the mirror. Each of us has our own unique story. The point of David sharing his journey is to illustrate the power you gain by accepting your own truth.
David talks frankly about his resistance to accepting that he is not only gay, but also suffers from the mental illness of bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression.) This mental illness causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration. After he accepted the truth of his condition – and began taking appropriate medication – he began to flourish both personally and professionally. He also accepted the fact that he is gay, despite the pressure from his Jordanian family to deny it.
Everyone is different but the truth of what David learned and will share applies to every single person in the audience: do NOT shy away from being honest with yourself. As you think about your life – now and yet to come – the more honest you can be about YOUR personal truth, the better able you will be to make the most of who you are … adjusting for any shortfalls and maximizing your opportunities for future happiness and success.
