Unless specific steps are taken to mitigate that outcome, Quantum is an industrial revolution and will create a multi-speed world with nations that are haves and have-nots, and all the consequences one can imagine that to have. It will reshape how we compute, communicate, and diagnose or cure disease. With quantum technology moving from theory to real-world impact, this talk focuses on quantum computing, quantum sensing and quantum communications/ cryptography, and how it will bring in a whole set of new solutions in healthcare, climate science, finance, cybersecurity and such like. It also covers the geopolitical landscape and rivalry when it comes to quantum, as a critical technology, and fears of Q-day, when quantum computers would break current encryption and expose everything from banking details to government secrets.
