Our increasingly polarized nation and world, faces a “perfect storm” of global pandemics, violent protests, anti-law enforcement movements, cyber-attacks, foreign intelligence threats, domestic terrorism, hate crimes, a deadly battle between Israel and Hamas, and war between Russia and Ukraine – all in the middle of a hotly contested presidential campaign, and unprecedented indictments and trials. Americans feel less stable and less secure than perhaps ever in their lives. Are we indeed less secure? Can we preserve what matters most to the future of our country, our profession, our personal lives, and our democracy?
