Jeffrey Saad, who once owned three locations of Sweet Heat restaurants in S.F., is starring in the new Cooking Channel series The United Tastes of America, premiering this evening at 6:30 PT. Eater spoke with Saad about the show, about his return to San Francisco and his role as consulting chef for The Grove restaurants, and about his plans to open his own restaurant here, possibly by next spring.
American chef Jeffrey Saad likes to play with flavors from around the world and to liven up soups, sandwiches and everyday food with Asian and Middle Eastern spices and sauces.
The favored contender (yet narrow loser) of The Next Food Network Star's fifth season is back on television after all. Jeffrey Saad has a new video series online at Food Network's website, and he looks poised to break into food TV after all.
