What HIV REALLY looks like now and what it means to live with HIV today.

It's a shame that in 2023 HIV is still a "thing". Rates of infection continue to climb here in the US and around the world even though we have all the tools right now to end it.

What's getting in the way? Outdated information and lingering fear manifested as stigma. People still believe HIV is a death sentence or something that only affects gay men and IV drug users. The reality is HIV affects everyone. In this conversation, we look at the how and the why.

This session addresses the facts and the science and informs about U=U (undetectable equals untransmittable) in a human nonclinical way. It breaks down the various forms of stigma and how those lingering ideas from the worst of the epidemic are the reason why we haven't beaten HIV once and for all. It addresses how U=U ultimately is a win-win for those living with HIV as well as those who are not. We take a look at the reality of what it really means to live with HIV in this day and age and inform others on how simple small changes can lead to a bigger movement, allowing all people to live, love, and thrive regardless of their HIV status.
