If the day ever comes when HubSpot's CMO Mike Volpe is forcibly removed from the office via stretcher or straitjacket, he said he's not worried. The marketing machine will continue to function.
Attend, Inc. today announced that Mike Volpe, former CMO of HubSpot, has been elected to Attend's board of directors. Volpe has been called the “third founder” of HubSpot, where as CMO he helped the company grow to over 15,000 customers, 1,000 employees, $150M in revenue, and an IPO leading to a $2 billion market cap.
In a Monday blog post, former HubSpot CMO Mike Volpe says he's interested in addressing the gender and diversity gap in Boston's tech scene.
In early 2007, Mike Volpe joined HubSpot as the company’s fifth employee. With Volpe serving as chief marketing officer, HubSpot has since grown from 10 to 10,000 customers, expanded from 5 to 650 employees, and raised $100 million in venture capital.
More than a year after Mike Volpe was fired from HubSpot, the Cambridge marketing tech company he helped build as its fifth employee, he's taking on a full-time job as chief marketing officer once again. This time, it's for Cybereason, a Boston cybersecurity startup with Israeli roots that Volpe says is growing faster than HubSpot for the size and state it's currently in.
