While you might be familiar with common eczema triggers like dry skin, irritating products, and stress, 24-year-old Samantha Tan has a pretty unique one: race car driving. Of course, inflamed patches of skin are the least of her concerns when she gets behind the wheel of her BMW M4 GT3 to race anywhere from 8 to 24 hours (depending on the length of the race, the team can clock in over 3,000 miles collectively).

At the age of just 14 (and with her parents’ permission), Samantha Tan slid behind the wheel of her first race car (a Ferrari!) and sped down a closed course in her home country of Canada. “I absolutely fell in love,” Samantha says. “That was the moment I decided I wanted to pursue racing.”
